Oleksandr Anatoliiovych Halushko, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor

Oleksandr Anatoliiovych Halushko graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Poltava Medical Stomatological Institute in 1993. After completing his internship, from 1996 to 2009 he worked as an anaesthesiologist at Vyshhorod Central District Hospital in Kyiv Region. He completed part-time postgraduate studies at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. In 2009 he defended his Candidate of Medical Sciences thesis entitled “Diabetic Foot Syndrome: Optimisation of Anaesthetic Management in Surgical Treatment.”
From 2009 he worked as an Assistant, from 2013 as an Associate Professor, and from 2019 as a Professor at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.
Since 2013 he has held the position of Academic Secretary of the Specialised Academic Council D 26.613.02 for the defence of doctoral theses in the specialties “Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care” and “Obstetrics and Gynaecology.”
In 2014 he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.
In 2018 he defended his Doctoral thesis entitled “Intensive Care of Patients with Acute Stroke and Concomitant Diabetes Mellitus” and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences.
In 2020 he was awarded the academic title of Professor.
In 2022 he obtained a specialist certificate in the specialty “General Practice – Family Medicine.”
In 2021–2023 he served as Professor of the Department of Family Medicine and Outpatient Care of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.
From May to October 2023 he held the position of Vice-Rector for Research and Pedagogical Work and Continuous Professional Medical Development at the Private Higher Educational Institution “Kyiv Medical University.” Since November 2023 he has been working at the State Institution “D.F. Chebotarev Institute of Gerontology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.”
Oleksandr Anatoliiovych Halushko studies scientific and practical issues of emergency medicine, anaesthesiology and intensive care, theoretical aspects of comorbid pathology, and the development of programmes for a healthy lifestyle and longevity.
He is the author and co-author of more than 350 scientific publications, including 6 educational and methodological manuals, 2 monographs, 6 chapters in the National Textbook Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, 3 methodological recommendations, 1 handbook, 4 information letters, and utility model patents of Ukraine.
